Deepening Presence: Mindfulness Immersion with Leah Adams
October 27 - 29, 2023
When we slow down and take the time to connect with ourselves we can better connect with others. Learn to skillfully incorporate foundational mindfulness practices into your yoga classes or work with clients. This is an experiential and immersive training that explores the science of mind, the power of narrative, and the building blocks of a traditional mindfulness meditation practice. There will be lectures, personal practice, and practice teaching in our three-day weekend together. Prior to our weekend there are assigned readings and practices to help you prepare. Across time and across the world people have leaned on practices and community for self-reflection, grounding and awakening insight. You can sit with us.
This Immersion offers a blend of Mindfulness practice, lectures, and practice teaching.
Our training curriculum covers the following topics:
- Understand the principles and foundations of mindfulness: Learn about the origins, philosophy, and scientific basis of mindfulness practice.
- Deepen your personal mindfulness practice: Engage in mindfulness practice to deepen your embodied experience of mindfulness.
- Cultivate teaching skills: Develop effective techniques for guiding mindfulness practices within the context of a yoga class, 1:1 work with clients, or to open a meeting at work.
- Understand the benefits and applications of mindfulness: Facilitators explore the various ways mindfulness can be applied in different settings, such as healthcare, yoga classes, and workplace.
- Ethical considerations: Discussions on ethical guidelines when guiding mindfulness, including diversity, belonging, respecting confidentiality and scope of teaching.
