Introduction to Sound Baths Training (18HRS)
Main Description
Join Nicole Merat for an introductory training in the art of Sound Baths. This weekend immersion into the world of sound and vibration will provide you with the information, understanding, and techniques needed to prepare you to lead a Sound Bath on your own. No musical experience required! This training is open to all and requires only the curiosity and willingness to learn. Please note* this is not a “Sound Healing” specific course – the difference between Sound Baths and Sound Healing will be discussed in this training.
Why Learn to Work with Sound?
Science and philosophy continue to evolve and intersect. Advances in technology and a growing demand for alternative medicine has brought about a new wave of research in practices like yoga and meditation, as well as sound and energy healing. These non-invasive methods treat the whole person, providing a more holistic lens through which to view and experience dis-ease and wellbeing, be it physical, mental, or spiritual. In the last century, sound and vibration has been used in the medical field in a variety of ways, from diagnostic imaging to hearing devices and heart monitors. More recently, studies are being done to investigate the human Bio-field – particularly how vibration can be used to influence, alter, and detect it. Quantum Physics has already proven that everything is made up of moving energy, and we are now finding correlations to what we can prove with science and what has been known by the mystics and ancient yogis of the past. Using sound (more specifically, vibration), can be used to, in a sense, “re-tune” the body back to its optimal frequency. Sound Baths are a unique way of not only relaxing, but also providing potential therapeutic benefits for the mind, body, and energetic field. By learning to work with sound in this non-traditional way, you yourself will become more sensitive to the power of vibration around you, and will be equipped to offer others this gift of relaxation. Whether you’re interested in sound for yourself or hope to incorporate its use into yoga classes, therapy sessions, or even the classroom, this training will prepare you to do so with confidence and integrity.
About Nicole
Nicole's journey with sound and vibration began in 2020 after taking on management at MindBodyHum. Since then, she has had the privilege and opportunity to learn through careful observation and hands-on practice, offering sound baths in her classes and in private sessions. In 2021, Nicole completed the Level 1 Foundations of Integral Sound Healing – Multi-Instrument course through the Sound Healing Academy, which has deepened both her understanding and appreciation of sound as a therapeutic modality. Nicole is fascinated by the intersection of science and spirituality, often weaving together data and intuition in her exploration of energy. Having Tourette Syndrome and OCD, her personal experience with the healing power of sound, meditation, and intentional rest has been life changing and profound. Nicole continues to be driven by curiosity and a true desire to create environments for others that facilitate rest.
In addition to her work with sound, Nicole offers yoga asana, meditation, and yoga nidra. She is also a passionate film and theatre performer and advocate for the arts, and is fiercely committed to both her creativity and spiritual practice.
