Spring 2027 Retreat: Yoga, Meditation, & Forest Bathing
Spring 2027 Retreat: Yoga, Meditation, & Forest Bathing
Why a retreat?
Retreats are truly a treat. They offer you the opportunity to step away from the hectic and sometimes frantic pace of everyday life and turn inward, listening intimately to your body, heart and mind, allowing space to open to the presence and knowing of your own inner wisdom. Retreats offer the opportunity of deep connection; with yourself, with others, and with something greater through the practices of yoga, meditation, forest bathing, and community connection.
By offering and integrating a variety of practices, this retreat offers participants the ability to co-create and savor a variety of comtemplative practices in a beautiful and nurturing space.
"Keeping your body and mind healthy is an expression of gratitude to the whole cosmos - the trees, the clouds, everything." ~Thich Nhat Hahn

RETREAT FACILITATORS

SCOTT FRANCIS

I discovered yoga & meditation in the early 90's and started teaching in 2004. From 2009-2019 I co-owned Be luminous Yoga & in 2020 I opened mindBodyHUM with my wife, Maria Gehl.
Early on I realized the power of the complimentary qualities of a deeply physical asana practice and the deep psychological practice of meditation. "For me the practices offer a path of inquiry into my own personal conditioning as well as a framework of wisdom to grow and develop toward more connectivity, love, presence and joy."
Over the years my yoga practice has included many different styles: Iyengar, Hatha, Ashtanga, Power Vinyasa and Restorative. Currently I enjoy teaching Warm vinyasa and Restorative Yoga. The framework and manner in which I teach meditation is primarily guided by my own experiences on retreats and the guidance I've received from many Insight meditation teachers and teachings. I've primarily sat retreats at Spirit Rock, IMS and The Forest Refuge. My primary teachers have been: Jack Kornfield, James Baraz & Guy Armstrong, and I've been blessed to have sat with many other teachers who are part of the teaching fabric of these meditation communities. In my teaching I integrate the insights and experiences I've had when sitting different types of retreats such as: Insight, Concentration, Loving-Kindness and Compassion.
More recently I've integrated the use of gongs and crystal bowls to help provide practitioners with the renewing and healing qualities of sound. I believe the integration of certain sounds can also help guide practitioners toward the knowing of the subtle inner "Sound of Silence."
Over the last 20 years I've been blessed to co-facilitate many retreats and look forward to sharing the power of community with you.

CHLOE LEE-TJENOS
Co-founder of Cascadia Forest Therapy
.jpg)
I am a yoga teacher, clinical hypnotherapist, and forest therapy guide based in Seattle. I design practices that train attention by blending movement, breath, and guided inner work with time in nature. My aim is simple: to help you feel stronger, more aware, and capable of shaping a mind of your own choosing. Wherever we practice together, I strive to create the conditions for self-discovery, a shared space where truth of who you are can be revealed, appreciated, and lived more fully.
Soulful Flow Yoga
A breath-centered, rhythmic practice that blends vinyasa flow with guided inner work. Our practice will weave together movement, breath, storytelling, visualization, and yogic philosophy with subtle energy practices like pranayama and mudra. Influenced by both traditional yoga and modern neuroscience, we will flow between fluid sequences and deliberate moment of stillness and reflection.
Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku)
A guided nature-connection practice rooted in sensory consciousness, relational presence, and subtle energetic attunement. Through simple invitations, slow wandering, and quiet observation, we will engage with the more-than-human world while noticing shifts in internal state, breath, and energy. as our bodies settle into the rhythm of the forest, our systems associated with rest, repair, and regulation come online to restore physiological wellbeing. Forest bathing supports a deeper connection with the self and nature an offers space to cultivate balance, clarity, and belonging.
