YIN YOGA TRAINING
with Katey Peck
December 4-6, 2026 at MindBodyHum
The Invitation
Join Katey Peck for a 3-day yin yoga training. This experience will offer 25 hours of teaching, shared learning, and embodied practice as we explore the Indigenous wisdom of yin yoga.
Why Yin?
Drawing upon the lineages of yoga and Daoism, yin yoga offers a rich tapestry of inquiry and refuge in the midst of a fast-moving world. Whether you seek to stretch and hydrate your connective tissues, work with your energy, soothe your mind, or drop into a deeper place of wisdom and intuition, yin offers something for every body.
Some Learning Highlights
- Introduction to the history and lineage of yin yoga, and where we fit in this genealogy
- Some fundamentals of yogic philosophy, Daosim, and Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Energetic & anatomical basics of yin poses, with a focus on fascia, meridians, and the chakra system
- Breath and meditation practices to support trauma-informed spaceholding
- Nurturing your spirit and community as a practitioner
Our Immersion Home
Silent Hum is uniquely designed and curated to offer a quiet and supportive experience. With special acoustic treatments, an unparalleled offering of props (including blankets and eye pillows!), and other intentional design features, it provides a sweet refuge for stillness and introspection. Especially for those seeking extra nervous system support, this is a really special place to learn and practice. Check out the space!
A Bit About Katey
My name is Katey (she/her), and I am a yoga guide, facilitator, and writer committed to the messy and vital work of collective liberation. A white settler raised on in the orbit of Washington, DC, I am now grateful to call dᶻidᶻəlalič (Seattle) home. A seeker and forever student, I treasure and transmit the teachings of several schools, including yoga, circle facilitation, public health, and ʻāina (n. land, that which feeds).
First introduced to postural yoga as a teenager, I am now a RYT-500, with 15 years of practice, 600 hours of yoga training, 2 years of full-time teaching experience, and 6 years of facilitating community gatherings. Some of my beloved teachers (in no particular order) include Susanna Barkataki, Linda Lopes, Hien Hong, Dr. Kaiwipunikauikawēkiu Punihei Lipe, Norma Ryuko Kawelokū Wong Roshi, Sarah Hyde, Faith Macauley, Travis Ka’eo, and Nicole Merat. My current sweet spot is leading quiet, contemplative classes in the yin and restorative styles.
Initially drawn to yoga out of curiosity, I stayed to heal my relationship with my body-mind. I envision that yoga continues to (re)build lives and repair relationships with people, land, and non-human kin. My space-holding is rooted in and guided by land, embraces a trauma-informed praxis, and strives to be inclusive and responsive to as many bodies as possible.
