‍Join Sarah Hyde, cofounder of Flourish Meditation, and guest instructor Nicole Merat, for a deep dive into the healing art and practice of restorative yoga, a passive, meditative form of yoga that helps us tap into deep rest and relaxation. Think of restorative yoga as the other half of a well-rounded movement and meditation practice. The half that supports all the living we’re out there doing - the other side to the hustle, the work, the energy we give out to others. It’s deep rest, and so much more - it’s time we spend with ourselves. Inspired by the postures of hatha yoga, restorative yoga involves resting with our bodies fully supported so that we can activate our parasympathetic nervous system and let go of stress and tension. In the process, we get to know ourselves better - and this is how we flourish; by stripping away the constant stimulation and distraction of the world, exploring stillness and connecting with our breath.At Flourish, our passion is teaching others to teach in a way that’s authentic, impactful, and creative. In this training, we’ll explore the why behind this practice, and learn to teach some of the most effective poses in the restorative library. We’ll discuss teaching from a trauma-informed lens, share our favorite breath and mindfulness practices, and explore sound healing. Most of all, we’ll help you find your unique voice as a teacher, and teach from your heart. Come flourish with us!

Sequencing, propping, and cueing a restorative class
Lecture on sound and its use in a Restorative class
Breath practices and mindfulness techniques to support your students
Finding your unique voice as a teacher and designing your classes
Beyond cueing: guiding your students’ inner journeys and the art of holding space
